The Wellness Program is proud to help Participants of the Local 103, I.B.E.W Health Plan get healthy by exercising more. Kaitlyn Gambino Sherman, Wellness Coordinator, has teamed up with Robert Smith from Elliot Physical Therapy to bring individuals, at all levels of fitness, a running plan. For the beginner, they will take you from the Couch to a 5K at your own pace. For the intermediate runner, a specially designed program will have you ready to run a 5K in no time, this will also include some speed training. We didn’t forget about the advanced runner, as we have a program to increase performance and mitigate injuries.
To assist with all levels of fitness and healthy living, we will meet every Thursday evening starting July 13, 2017. Kaitlyn and Rob will lead exercise sessions with those who need some coaching or just have questions, each Thursday at 4:30 and 5:30pm. In addition to the two Couch-to-5K exercise sessions (which will run approximately 20 minutes each week), a general Wellness topic will be covered from 5:00 – 5:30pm. Please come and take part in your Wellness Program. It’s also your opportunity to ask our Health Plan experts questions you may have. Here’s an overview of the program schedule.

Join us for a walk or run at 4:30, or stop by at 5:00 to listen to our Wellness topic designed to help you on the path to healthier living, or come at 5:30 for a walk or run. Better yet, come to the entire session if time allows. This is your Wellness Program. You choose what works best for you and your family… We are here to help in any way we can.

“Get Your Rear In Gear” Walk/Run Event – September 16, 2017
For those who want a goal to reach, plan on participating in the September 16, 2017 “Get Your Rear In Gear” walk/run event that will help the Colon Cancer Coalition’s mission of preventing colon cancer.
